Below are a few of our frequently asked questions. If you have a question that isn’t answered here, please do not hesitate to call or email us with your query.
1. Who is my tutor?
Your tutor will be assigned by our team. This decision will be based on a number of factors, such as availability, gender, your prior experience, your age and your reason for learning the language.
2. What happens if I’m not happy with my tutor?
We endeavour to use your information to match you with the tutor who has the most relevant experience for you, however, in the event that you aren’t happy with our tutor choice, please contact our customer care team on 0401885025 between 9am-5pm.
3. Will I always have the same tutor? Can I change?
Once you have a tutor, you will always have the same one in order to ensure a seamless and thorough learning experience. If for any reason you want to change your tutor, please contact our customer care team on 0401885025 between 9am-5pm.
4. What happens if I need additional help or another lesson?
If you need to ask a quick question, you can contact our tutors any time on their Acquire Language email address (provided to you in the first lesson). If you wish to book an additional lesson in one week, please contact our customer care team on 0401885025 between 9am-5pm – or alternatively, email firstname.lastname@example.org in order to arrange a second lesson.
1. What do I need for my lesson?
We recommend a new notebook and somewhere to sit. Seriously, that’s all. Your tutor will organize everything else that you need. Based on your personal needs, this could be a range of things from sheets, custom flash cards to vocabulary lists.
2. Do you work in line with the standard QLD curriculum?
We do! Kind of. Because different schools across Brisbane can differ greatly as to which topics and grammar they cover, we cannot guarantee that we will be 100% accurate. However, our tutors have worked with nearly every school across Brisbane previously, and our contacts with Brisbane schools are extensive. If you are particularly concerned, you can contact us and check in. A member of our customer care team will be able to confirm whether one of our tutors are familiar with that school’s program and textbook use.
3. Do you use textbooks?
We don’t use textbooks or have a preference. We believe in real life languages! However, we understand that textbooks can be a useful practicing technique for some, and we are more than happy to use any textbook you have a preference for.
4. What will my tutor cover?
Each lesson will be personalized and customized to your individual needs. Generally, lessons will cover a dynamic mix of speaking, listening, writing and reading – as well a section dedicated to conversation building.
Your Language Learning Program:
1. Can I end my language learning program early?
If you wish to end the language learning program before the minimum term, you will be required to pay out the remaining weeks.
2. What happens if I miss a lesson or cancel within 48 hours?
At Acquire Language, we program and design lesson materials to best suit the individual all while maintaining the course goals of the student. To allow for this level of personalisation, all lessons must be scheduled at least 72 hours in advance to the requested time, with Saturdays requiring a month notice. 48 hour’s notice is required if you need to cancel a scheduled lesson. The cancellation must be made during business hours. If you do not wish to undertake a lesson, and do not notify the tutor, the lesson will be charged.
3. If I chose to do weekly lessons, am I able to take time off?
A hold on your payment schedule requires a 10-day notice, and the account may not be held for more than 6 weeks.
4. How many sessions a week can I take?
You can choose to do between 1-3 lessons per week as part of your learning plan, which will reduce the price of your learning plan. Alternatively, you can choose 1 lesson per week and add on additional lessons as you go. For this pricing, your tutor will outline in the first lesson.
5. What happens when my learning program finishes?
Exit from the learning plan after the term is completed requires a 10-day notice.
6. Who do I contact if I have questions about payments?

7. How do I pay for my learning program?
We use a third-party debiting system to pay for lessons. They accept visa, Mastercard, and bank details. We do not accept cash
8. When do I pay for the lessons?
The lesson will be debited from your payment method of choice 1 business day before the lesson commences.
9. Are there any additional costs?
No. You pay for what you use. Please see the agreement with ezidebit as to failed payment charges.
10. Can I change my lesson times from week to week?
Subject to our tutor’s individual availability, you may be able to swap and change each week. Each of our tutors will discuss this with you and let you know if they have flexible timetables.
